A surface design using a traditional Hungarian tulip cross-stitch motif arranged in a repeat. There is a yellow tulip native to Hungary, but these specific motifs probably originate in ca 16th C when the Ottoman Empire occupied Hungary, and red Tulipa agenesis was introduced.
