amazingly, Kool Keith and Ice-T’s #HipHop supergroup Analog Brothers was brought together by Pimpin’ Rex (/Rex Roland), who had sung the #falsetto hook on Ice-T’s I’m Your Pusher. not surprisingly, there’s lots of excellent falsetto hooks on their album.

my favourite rapper using #falsetto hooks in #hiphop tracks is Kool Keith. favourite not just because his hooks are not based on sources but written by Keith himself, but especially because they are not just falsetto but also so unapologetically false.

arguably, chronologically the relation between recorded #HipHop and #falsetto hooks is in reverse, as the 1975 disco track Heaven and Hell Is on Earth by the 20th Century Steel Band -sampled 100s of times- is built on the foundation of a definitely *rapped* falsetto hook (add this to the significant lists of recorded rap and hiphop pre-Rappers Delight?):
