Ha, I just came across the footnote no. 7 in the short story 鼴鼠 (Mogera Wogura) by 川上弘美 (Hiromi Kawakami). I suffer from multiple levels of ignorance here - for a start I only knew that 朝顔 literally means morning face, rather than morning glory (the flower). And to go from that to urinal (because of the funnel shape of the flower)... 🤯
