For this WIP, I've decided to keep things simple and not use too many Latin terms. This leads to such interesting questions as to which English word to use instead of "insula". I ended up using "block" (as in a block of houses), and I hope nobody will get it into their heads that this is "too modern" for a hist rom set in antiquity.

Similarly, I did some frantic googling earlier today to figure out which word best to use for Roman "duumvir" - mayor or magistrate.

What a wonderful blast from the past! Today it's been seven years since I finished writing Eagle's Honor: Ravished, my m/f romance set in Roman antiquity.

Two secondary characters from this novel, Caius and Lucius, inspired me to write my very first m/m romance, The Centurion's Choice, which is set roughly ten years before Ravished.
