Das vorerst letzte (Abriss-) Haus aus der Zeile, die ich „portraitieren“ möchte. In Kürze teile ich nochmal alle betroffenen Gebäude nebeneinander, in einer Reihe.
Dieses hier hat einen leichten barocken Einschlag (im Giebel, auch in seinen Kartuschen), aber in Kombination mit einer geometrischen Strenge, die eher der Renaissance entspringt (Stuckleisten um Fenster und Erker-Unterbau).

Haus Nr. 2 aus der zum Abriss bestimmten Reihe, die ich portraitieren möchte. Es kommt eher wie ein kleines barockes Palais daher - mit seinen Kartuschen (z.B. über den Giebelfenstern) und seinem Erker mit trapezförmigem Grundriss. Durch geometrischere Muster wie die waagerechten Flechtmuster in Höhe der oberen Fenster und Umrahmungen aller Fensteröffnungen kommt ein Renaissance-Anklang ins Spiel (Eklektizismus at it‘s best :).

Listening to an album of classic #Xmas music and trying to explain why this genre feels so profoundly insincere. I take the #structuralist angle (it's about the lies we tell to children) but @ecourtem parries with #historicism (the Sinatra/Martin #1950s were an era of public vice).

What is obvious with hindsight is for many less so in the moment, and generalising from a specific is something with which people often struggle.
Meaning, comparisons between #email and the #Fediverse, and the mocking of those who do not see the parallels, is not as clever as it seems. Because it is mere presentism, a crime against #historicism, and no more insightful than abject triumphalism because you happened to get to the understanding first. /rant
