The amazing Dallas Dhu preserved distillery south of Forres. The distillery was built in 1898-9 and closed in 1983. It reopened as a visitor attraction in 1988 and gives an excellent insight into the distiller’s art. More pics and info: undiscoveredscotland.co.uk/for

@DarkGalloway I'm told similar notices, and fences, have gone up over the border in at Crossraguel Abbey and Dunure Castle too. Seems is kinda abandoning its commitments somewhat.

Torthorwald Castle remains open, and disintegrating, as usual though.

Duke and Baron. The wonderful sculptures by Andy Scott at the Falkirk Wheel. Based on two Clydesdale Horses that pulled barges along the Forth and Clyde canals for many years, they stand proud beside the M9 and are tower over visitors in the canal basin.

Auld Wives Lifts, Craigmaddie Muir, just north of Glasgow.

Once thought to be a stone age monument, this massive rock balanced on top of two smaller ones is now thought to be a natural rock formation created suring the last ice age. Either way, it's still pretty impressive and well worth the trek out of Glasgow to see.

Some pictures from today’s run earlier with @Galleonskip.
Craigmillar Castle has a lot of history associated with it. Mary, Queen of Scots stayed here in 1563 & 1566… allegedly the plot to remove her unpopular husband Lord Darnley was conceived here, though she wasn’t involved.
And they say life was simpler in older times?! Maybe not!
