Let's get ready for Walpurgisnacht!
Here I look into classic demonology for what is actually required to attend. It gets fucking dark, as always!

This large building has dominated the first block of South Broadway in New Philadelphia, Ohio since its construction and, when it was built, was considered state-of-the-art. I thought I would explore its construction and how it became the focal point of an early 20th century Ohio Supreme Court case.

Got an automated email from my website this morning with stats and only now realized that, in the last three+ years, I've posted 200+ family history and local history stories on my website. Writing them has been my way of relaxing and nourishing my brain. I'm just happy people read them!

Wassail was once the drink of choice during #Christmas time and is thought to date back to the Vikings. Find out more about the history of this drink in this post from the #voyagerofhistory archives. #historyblog #womenshistorycircle https://wp.me/pagtWm-1d

My 4th blog post from 2022.
It's a bit of a weird one I know, but this is still one of my favourite articles from this year.
Published this one back at the end of January . . .

(Just going to share these here as I’ve not otherwise linked to them):
I keep a little #Blog where I write mostly semi-formal essays on topics that interest me. Not to centre me, but I’m proud of the two-part piece I finished in June on the predatory and abusive experiences of young women and girls with J.D. #Salinger, which is pinned on my profile.
But here’s a list of #History (-specific) blog posts that I’ve enjoyed writing so far, since I started just over a year ago:

On the other hand, book reviewing is still my primary content driver. I have a bunch of books to review in the next 3-4 weeks.
Which is good, since that's what I've always been most comfortable and capable of doing for some years now. My kind of books is quite niche, but at least I get to contribute content within that specific niche.
Maybe in the near future I'll find more success in this reviewing habit that I do.

I realized that focusing on Late Antiquity and Early Middle Ages for my new blog is probably not the best choice - at least not yet. I realized I still don't know enough about the period to write content about it more than once a month.
So, maybe I'll just keep the blog for now, but won't be active in posting new content until I have read more books on it and learned enough to write stuff that aren't amateurish.
I made the first (proper) post in my new blog.
The blog will focus on Late Antiquity and Early Medieval Period. Quite a broad scope, but it should give me tons of topics to talk about in the future.
I will transfer it to its own domain in a later date. Just gotta populate it with content first.

The name is "Kathedra Lectures". I kinda chose the name impulsively, but I might stick with it anyway.

My "big" project is too ambitious for my current skills (and finances haha). So I'm working on it in a staggered manner, instead of going all-in right away (which, as weird as it is, was my original intention).
So, this isn't its final form yet (hah!). I just created a temporary free site for the project, and will switch to a custom domain later on.
Check it out!
