During our trip we stayed at 5 different (aka ) properties over the trip, and three of them I would not recommend. Have received just under half of the reward points earned during the trip. Once we use the free night we earned, I may put IHG back on timeout. We’ll see what happens after I spend some time on the phone with customer relations on Monday.

You may have thought was a company... think again:

Intercontinental Hotel Group (IHG) who own HI & Crown Plaza brands actually own less than 1% of the hotels so branded... another third are run on service contracts for investors; the rest are franchises.

IHG is essentially a brand manager, with some service contracts, but for the most part is benefiting from the rent on the Holiday Inn brand & fees for using centralised booking services...

an everyday story of ?

Putting this here:

* I think NASA had worked out the engineering well for scale rocket exhausts in the 60s. will ultimately need a thrust tunnel under their launch pad and more room around the plume. A gaseous "virtual" diverter won't last long enough.

* I also think the tower will not cope well with rocket exhaust spraying across it as they try to catch a returned rocket.

* I think those two things might be indicative of the present tower possibly being built with a throw away intent. It's presumed there will be a catastrophic .

* A design for heat shield tiles that fall off while the rocket is stationary will not survive launch or reentry.

* Melting point of high temp steel alloys is too close to the hysteresis of pressure vs. temperature required for a carbon-carbon plate to dimensionally close a gap.

* Coanda effects will pull plasma over parts on the back of that aren't shielded.

* An adhesive that can handle the pressure and shock of reentry, and also not fail if the tiles do manage to expand into each other?

* The expansion matrix won't be affected by non-symmetrical warping if the temperature isn't perfectly uniform? I presume CFD has been done on all layers as a whole of Starship accounting for uneven heating + pressure changes + torsional stresses as it's translating 3D through buffeting, etc.?

I hope Starship is successful, but it seems like layers of margins taken out of context of each other.

If Apple got into the car industry, we'd probably have a good idea of what that may look like because of the strength of the brand.
