Someone had mentioned to me a while ago that #santaclaus wears his normal outfit in the #christmasfantasyparade until Christmas, and then he changes into his less formal attire after that because his job is done for the year. The first picture is from November 13 of this year, and the second picture is from tonight, December 26. (Ignore that the toys are the same.) I also tried the holiday sandwich - black forest ham, whole-grain mustard spread, cranberry mayo and arugula on a stuffing roll. The sandwich was tasty, though messy, and a bit heavy on the sauce. It also didn't work that well on the roll they used and would have worked better as a sandwich between two slices of a sourdough loaf. #pacificwharfcafe

Lunch today was at #pacificwharfcafe . Tried out the new chicken tortilla soup with grilled corn, fresh onion and cilantro topped with crispy tortilla strips, served in a bread bowl. I really enjoyed this soup, which was a little creamy and a little spicy and very flavorful. I do wish they'd give the option of ordering soup without the bread bowl because as much as I love their sourdough bread bowls, I don't always want one.

Colombian-style beef empanadas swith aji verde and cabbage salad tossed with cilantro dressing and escabeche from #sonomaterrace. I really enjoyed the empanada, which had really good flavor. I liked the flavor of the verde sauce but didn't use it on the empanada because I didn't think the flavors went together, and I thought the citrus flavor in the verde would just destroy the flavoring of the beef filling.
