Exhausting day of ‘get that last thing done before year end’ meetings, frantic wrapping and then trying to coordinate with friends to exchange presents. Which proves impossible because everyone is also dashing about delivering presents, never at home. And OF COURSE I was giving gifts of plants which would die if left out in the cold too long. So, there I am texting photos to people of their own front doors with plants in front, so they knew to grab the plant before frost did. #holidaystress

OK the good thing about a new social media platform where I have not a single family member is that I can say...

MY SIBLINGS' IN-LAWS ARE SO FRUSTRATING.

They have demanded, yes, that is the word they use, to have Christmas Eve dinner and Christmas Day with the grandkids so my parents have to work around it.

My early memories of the holidays were happy ones, that became strained and conflicted after my grandparents were no longer there to make them joyful.

I'm in a place of peace again, but even so, the pull of sadness can be strong at this time of year, for whatever reason.
