All this talk about insanely cold temps and huge snowfalls reminds me of a particularly lovely #HolidayTradition around these parts called 'going to the beach.'

What's your favourite #HolidayTradition that's not focused on #Consumption? Some might immediately disagree with my choice because it is literally connected to consumption -- to eating. But I love baking for others over the #Holidays. My mom always made stollen -- a German #Christmas bread -- but she wasn't feeling up to it this year. So we're making it at our place to take to my parents.

The annual Making of the Sheepdip has begun. No, no sheep are involved; it's just what I call my beef, 'shroom, chili, bean & cheese dip.

A friend gave me a small block of jalapeño/cheddar "cheese" from Hickory Farms, so I cut that up & threw it in. It refuses to melt entirely. WTF? After I fish out the chunks & throw in a little bit more of this 'n' that, it'll be perfect.

Every year I ask my husband to help with the holiday decorations (lights, getting boxes down from garage) and every year he complains and is a shit. #holidaytradition

Downsized our tree this year and I've not been sure what to think since I put it up yesterday, but finished the (also downsized number of) ornaments today and appreciate it not taking up tons of space now.

I used to not value Christmas bc it held terrible memories for me, but since the birth of my son, those memories have been replaced with good.
