Yom HaShoah is 17th April (27 Nisan in the Hebrew calendar). If you want to help remember someone through the #YellowCandle initiative, there's still time to buy a candle (£2 plus £2 shipping). They'll send a yarzheit candle and the name, age and place of death for a Jew murdered in the Shoah.

German pastor Martin Niemöller supported the Nazis before worrying signs propelled him to criticize Hitler from the pulpit. In 1937, the Gestapo arrested him for this opposition, and he spent almost eight years in concentration camps. After the Holocaust, Niemöller called for acknowledgment of German guilt.
