There was a time when humans were in harmony with nature when there wasn't over 8 billion of us consuming and destroying virtually everything. Now we've become not just too smart but also too populous for our own good.

Even with our technology and science, sadly, I'm afraid, one way or another we are all doomed. Ironically, it's science and technology that may end up being our own demise.

We're in/entering the 7th mass extinction. Not 6th. Numbers are poor for naming. 'Holocene extinction' or 'Anthropocene extinction' might be better terms.
