I’ve been strictly using Holo Taco for over a year because I don’t do my nails often (I just can’t be bothered, especially with the upkeep!) and I had tons of combinations to try between the polishes and the toppers. But today I reached out for a light green O.P.I. I had, thinking it’d be nice with some pink unicorn skin and opalescent toppers.

Gosh. O.P.I. doesn’t stand the comparison! It’s coloured water! I needed 4 coats to get full coverage! I hated how it applied!

Today is my last planned chemo treatment. Maybe I'll be off it for a couple months or maybe a couple years. It's nearly guaranteed to flare back up at some point. I have to take steroids the night before, and it's usually tough to sleep after. Do I often spend time painting my nails. One coat black with toppers. The world is often an utter shitshow. One way I personally try to beat back the immediate darkness for myself is to paint my nails. It's a little thing I can do for myself, it's oddly meditative, and my little autistic heart stims with the glitter, colors and glassy texture. Plus, there's the added bonus that painting my nails is a tiny way that I make my outside match my inside.

I just bought some new polishes from #HoloTaco (my preferred brand.) Looking forward to getting those so I can play.

It might seem vapid or simple when everything is so *gestures* you know. But it's one star-like point of joy in an ever-darkening sky.
