#Cramond in #Edinburgh is full of wonderful #ruins ! These are the remains of a cottage, supposedly belonging to Jock Howieson, who appears in Sir Walter Scott’s “Tales of a Grandfather.” Disguised #KingJamesV was attacked at the nearby Cramond Brig by thieves, but was saved by auld Jock - who didn’t recognise the disguised king! Jock was invited to #HolyroodPalace as thanks for his care x #archaeology #scottisharchaeology
