I'm a #writer, focused on #poetry and #essay. Learning to #bake #bread and will start up #breadquest 2.0 when I have time! Also want to set up #HomeAssisitant using an old #RaspberryPi for temp and video. I repost dumb memes, pics of #space and good #writing. Would also love to do more #voiceacting #voiceovers.

I have a Megaflo cylinder I want to set up for #solar diversion using the immersion heater.

Is there a non invasive way to get the current temperature of the water in the cylinder?

Been playing with Home Assistant and ZigBee smart plugs and created a scene to toggle the Xmas lights. Had fun joking with the teen about threatening to "turn Christmas off" if they misbehave. Also I'm amused by the candelabra icons having the option for lit vs unlit.

I genuinely don't think anyone needs a smart speaker. At best they're just a hella-invasive alarm clock. I'd prefer some kind of dumb voice interface with programmable phrases that act like switches I can configure. It would probably be way more responsive with limited functions anyway #AI #HomeAssisitant

I love how #HomeAssisitant is now so heavily focussed on #usability and ease of use! I switched from #Athom #Homey which was supposed to be the easiest way to get started with a #SmartHome, but I found home assistant to be easier to discover and add devices at least. Even automations aren't that difficult to use, and are much more powerful. To anyone who hasn't looked at home assistant in a year or so, please do have another go, it's so much better now!
