Does anyone know how I can hook my #Phillips #Hue Go into the Tuya app with a multimode gatewa? Works fine in the Phillips android app. Not sure why Tuya won't find the lights.

I'm an #IT guy who likes to tinker with stuff. I was in Identity in an #infosec-adjacent role with a lot of stress. Recently moved to an #Automation role which makes me much happier.

I was looking for a good way to implement presence detection for my office. Since I have a few #ESP32 at home I searched for a way to integrate them with Bluetooth LE detection and my #Homeassistant to turn off the lights.
What I found is #ESPresense (https://espresense.com/) and it works amazingly well, just needs some parameter tweaks.

Which idiot accidentally reset his Z-Wave controller and now gets to factory default and re-enroll every device in the network?
THAT RIGHT! Me.
For weeks my wife and I were wondering what kind of nonsense is our #solarInverter doing all the time. I couldn't make sense of the data in #OpenHAB either. I turned out that the installer made a tiny mistake and switched some cables by accident. :blobcatshrug: But now I'm quite happy and I'll start a journey with some #HomeAutomtion.

Really impressed with how far home assistant has come. When I tried it a few years ago I remember hours of messing around with config files just to get something simple working. This time it detected all of my devices automatically. I have not touched a yaml file so far.
So, naturally, I've added my internal and external Christmas lights to my #HomeAssistant #HomeAutomtion set-up.
For the most part it's fine but you know what REALLY grinds my gears?? Lights with multiple functions (flash, fade, strobe, cycle etc) that REFUSE to persist the user settings when powered off/on.
What's the point having external lights can control from warmth in house if I need to go outside every time they're turned on and switch settings to "calm" rather than "frenetic" grrr.
I so need to get off my backside and sort out my @homeassistant config as I've a couple of outstanding issues to be resolved before I update next. I guess its what happens when you manually code your setup. #HomeAutomtion #HomeAssitant
I wrote up a quick blog post with more details on the Aqara lock sensor #HomeAutomtion hack.

Success! A little soldering, some wire, and a few paperclips and I have myself a working door lock sensor! #HomeAutomtion
