On to the #pepper update.

The #peppers have started ripening! So, first, no jalepenos - that was a bad ID. These are Thai fish peppers and they are SO GOOD. The Carolina Reaper #TacoTraumaTree has 4 fruit, so that is .. terrifying?
The harvest of Scotch Bonnets and Thai Fish peppers has taken off this week! I'm getting 3-4 Fish and 2-4 Bonnets every day!
Most get cleaned and fridged for fermented sauce next week but the fish peppers are AMAZING on pizza..
All 4 plants are still making flowers, so hopefully I can get a second harvest going before transplanting for winter. (I really want peppers in midwinter Just Because and I have extra lights.)

This week in #weedling news, there was a mishap with my carefully prepared nutrient stripped and sterilized soil. 😿 Instead the weedlings are waiting for Monday's transplant as soon as the truck drops off some Happy Frog. Silver lining, I managed to get all 4 over the dry-soil hump finally, and the sensors work!

Should I do anything about pre-treating the soil? I'm in a hurry to repot but I don't want to spend another grow fighting those stupid gnats and maybe aphids again. (That was different but comparable soil, now lost to the geraniums.) I've got neem and DE still but it is such a suck to start off fighting like that.

I'm going for 3 gal fabric, with a bunch of clay pellets mixed into the bottom couple of inches, then dump the mycorrhiza on the old soil and inside the hole. A few hours after move-in they get a proper ph check and maybe a touch more water. And I have until tomorrow to figure out their next training.

Today's #weedling update: Two needed some extra water yesterday, and I still need to number the pots. While I was in there I moved the camera and lights up again (check the fun new angle!)

Annoyingly, the two dry sensors did not align with the two lightest pots. So that is fun. I'll number them after sunset tonight and maybe something will stand out from the graphs in the morning. (Next option is to move the sensors during the next watering and see if it gets better.)

I still need to build my light sensors, since the soil sensors are under the canopy. I don't know that I actually need them, but I am still a little paranoid. On the last grow, the lights went super unreliable as soon as I flipped to flower. I've replaced that piece, but I want those sensors. (And the sensor controller can also manage some auto-water pumps..)

#Weedlings got topped yesterday and seem very happy about it. (I also moved the light up a bit. It will only get dimmer as they get bigger anyway.)

More of my dashboard than usual here. It still needs work but I use it. (Those thresholds on the plant card are questionable at best, but that is OK because so are the sensors..)

On the #hydrotower front, we ate the fancy half-cucumber. It was fucking delicious, but only enough to garnish 2 side salads. Coincidentally, a second fem flower has started swelling up. My cucumber machine is .. slow, but steady. Slow.

Tower is a hard lesson in several aspects of #3dprinting. It is super hard to waterPROOF something, esp without post-processing. And I'm getting fatigue-related sagging that is gonna be a Big Problem eventually. Plus water just doing water things in a naive design (cutouts cause it to 'flip' forward, stuff like that..)

Taken with an #esp32 cam with #esphome and #homeassistant. Lights (intermittently 🤬) controlled via peanut plug. Circulation fan and exhaust fan are both reliable using switchbot. Random #ble sensor is sitting up high in the tent reporting temp/humidity to #bigear

Sunday the soil root stuff arrives and they go into little pots. The yellow 3 get ready for outside while the others stay here (gender permitting)

Eventually the #autoflower (yellow cups) go outside. I might have to lose one for the absurdly low plant count, but I know someone who can take her.

Conditions are very warm (the lights are on) and nicely dry. The mixing bowl icon indicates the stir fan is running to harden them.

I will need to do something about the warm soon, but it shares a room (and dehumidifier) with the printer and I don't want to put all my plastic away right now 😿 Someday the #Prusa parts will arrive and I can fix the printer.

From #legalizationday . Sprouted a few and only one dud so far! Tonight some go into the tent and under the control of #homeassistant and the others (the #autoflower) go in indoor/outdoor pots.

This isn't the interesting picture. Those come soon, but this is the warmup. First better pictures of these strains, then better pictures of better strains.

Granted, I live in #Germany and were we don't have absurd regulation beyond legal sale and consumption ages.
