Neglect, feelings of hopelessness, depression, anxiety, no self esteem eats away at one’s brain. I have met folks who think everything is out to get only them. My thought is when you live in a world of survival, you’re hyper-focused on yourself. Why do people hate them? They must deserve this. Why do homeless prey on other homeless? Today a client who is not only homeless but going through stage 4 colon cancer can’t get food stamps because they aren’t working but can’t work because of being in pain and the cancer being depilating. They didn’t know a form is what stopped them from getting food assistance. Most don’t and many medical care providers don’t care to ask if that is a need. #homelessinaustintexas #homelessness
