Our 1986 Dodge Ram van may look sketchy from the outside but it was our first & the first in many experiments in nomadic living.

During our time in it, we began dabbling in (roamlab.com/the-car/), experienced our first nights at truck stops, & noticed enticing dirt roads.

Through it, we learned the benefits of traveling in the smallest rig that serves our needs, the limitations of 2WD, and that our time in a van would not last long.

The end of the year, always nice to look back on what happend and where we stayed with our camper.

In 2021 we stayed in 29 places throughout Portugal. This year we only stayed in 3 places in Portugal. Slow living it is! :)

January and February we stayed in Salema (south coast Algarve), March until November we stayed in Carrascalinho off grid en since then in Aljezur (both southwest coast Algarve).

Every place we stay with our camper has its own benefits. We live on the campsite now and that is close to our favorite local beach!

Both of our kids love the beach, just like when we lived in the forest they loved the forest. Playing, learning, enjoying there time on this beautiful earth 🌎, the world is their playground.
