For a while now I’ve been having issues with #homekit taking the form of ‘I can’t do that’, ‘some devices aren’t responding’ or #HomePod accessories being unavailable. It’s been months and the usual troubleshooting (power cycling, resetting etc) hasn’t worked.

On a whim I turned off the mesh router/satellite just now using only the router wifi and boom, everything is working flawlessly and most of the house gets full wifi bars.

Does this mean I leave it and abandon the #mesh network? I’m in a 3bedroom house but maybe the Optus #wifi thingo is good enough and I convinced myself to buy a piece of tech I didn’t need.

My condo tested its fire alarm system today. My #Apple #HomePod picked it up and alerted me. Cool feature.

While #siri keeps asking who I am, telling me the music playing on the #HomePod is not playing, #apple is about to launch the #visionpro. What will it be like? I don’t recognize your face? You’re not wearing the vision pro? I’d rather wish Apple made existing devices and software work properly.

Par exemple : j'ai un #HomePod mini, je viens d'installer #Nextcloud et j'ai désactivé mon compte #iCloud pour les tâches. Guess what: lorsque je demande à #Siri d'ajouter un rappel, il le fait dorénavant sur mon Nextcloud !

On ne peut en dire autant de l'écosystème #Google et #Android, paradoxalement plus ouverts...

Some advice for setting up new #HomePod devices. Plug them into your Mac first and open Finder and click the HomePod in the list of mounted devices. Click Restore. This will clear it out *and* update to the latest software. It’s that 2nd part that can cause you grief if you try to set them up with just your iPhone.

This is slim, but I'll try.

Does anyone else have the latest Apple TV 4K and gen 2 HomePods set up in stereo pair and as the default speaker output for the Apple TV?

All running tvOS 17 betas. Ethernet connected Apple TV and eARC. HDMI test comes back fine.

My audio is a couple milliseconds off. Nothing I do in the Sony or Apple TV settings can fix it.

I assume my issue is that I'm running the beta and it isn't prioritizing audio sync, but I want to make sure there isn't something I can't do. It could also be my new Sony OLED.

No ideas here. I assume a future beta or final release of tvOS 17 will fix it. I swear I didn't have any lag when running the regular release of tvOS 16.

If anyone else could report back on their audio sync being perfect or not, that would be great. Let me know your beta status too.
