I think my guilty pleasure about #HGTV #HomeRenoShows is equal parts the reno and ranting about the bougie obliviousness.

Currently watching one where they are excited that the city has "finally changed zoning to reflect #UrbanDensity goals" so they can add a major addition to their flip.

Argh! Turning a 900 sq.ft. single family house into a 2200 sq.ft. single family house DOES NOT increase density! It did however affect affordability of the neighborhood, you ding dongs.

#HomeRenoShows are one of my #GuiltyPleasures but ... the obsession with bathrooms and everyone needing them to be a "retreat/oasis/escape" makes me wonder if rather than spending 50k on a bathroom reno they should spend some time figuring out why they need an escape room in their home (and why it needs $50k in marble tiles and high end fixtures).
