aaaand the result: Today's roast. A Panama blend from Finca Santa Teresa. 220g in, 186g out. Roaster had no problem doing 25% more coffee, so next time is another 25% more #coffee #HomeRoasting

2 small modifications to the top of the roaster just made my life so much better. The red circle is a small hole I drilled to put the temperature probe in, the blue circle is a piece of the metal I bent in the exhaust hole to make a lip to pour in the beans in a much more consistent way #DIY #coffee #CoffeeRoasting #HomeRoasting

31 followers · 83 posts · Server mastodon.online@GoodGnus If you choose to experiment w/ #HomeRoasting your #Coffee w/ popcorn popper, PLEASE make sure you use one where the air comes from the sides, not directly from the bottom. This will prevent chaff from possibly catching fire. I never could get a satisfying roast w/ the popper, so I sprung for a Behmor 1600+ five years ago. Now, 500 roasts later, I still love it. I only do about 1/2 lb at a time, but it's really satisfying for personal use and gifts for friends.
