"Carolina in My Mind" is a song originally written and performed by American singer-songwriter #JamesTaylor. It was Taylor's second single from his 1968 #selftitledDebutAlbum. Taylor wrote Carolina in My Mind while in England recording for #theBeatles' label #AppleRecords, and the song's themes reflect his #homesickness at the time. Released as a single in 1969, the song earned critical praise but not commercial success.

As my intro and profile point out, I don't currently live in Australia, but rather in San Francisco, California. I haven't lived in Australia since 2010.

(I've only ever lived in Canberra other than a 6 month stint in Far North Queensland, though I've been to Melbourne and Sydney many times, sometimes on extended trips, as I have family in both.)

Being here on aus social is both nice and challenging for me, as I get to keep an eye on "home" (going to rain in Canberra this weekend according to @nathanaelcbr, and I got reassured last week that the Old Canberra Inn is still awesome), but then I see things that just make me feel quite homesick. Not just pictures, but also things that remind me that... I just find Aussies in general so much nicer to deal with than Yanks. (Sorry, my lovely American family and friends - I don't mean you, of course.)
