Wanted to share something good…
My daughter’s back in school, which means I’m back in school (homework). She’s learning algebra. I took it in the 6th grade with 7th/8th graders. But I forgot most of it.
She was crying when we sat down. She didn’t understand any of it. First I had to learn it, then try to explain it differently. By the time we finished, she was smiling and racing through the problems. That felt really good.

This morning is all about be, bê, ba, bâ and bơ, followed by bề, bế, bể and bệ.

Procrastinating French class: but if the comic is in French, is it really bad?
Lately, I am not sure if there is a better #feeling than having all #homework for the week completed and turned in on time.
Now to get through the next week and then enjoy a break before #FallSemester when the lunacy really begins.

In the meantime, we need to be realistic about how many things are about to change in the near future, and start to plan now for what we will do in response to the Homework Apocalypse. Fall is coming."

Is it #ironic that I am sitting in a cafe eating a plate of #fries with a #latte while reading my #nutrition book for #homework?
At least the latte has oat milk 😜

A8. Serendipity. When bicycling at night, trying to think of what write about for a poetry class, no ideas coming--and came across a huge skull. It was just a mini golf course, but I couldn't see anything else. Wrote a (now lost) poem about it.
Joy. First time I looked out from a mountain top that just two weeks earlier, I was certain I'd never be able to bicycle up.
A7. I don't have any because I haven't decorated any of them beyond stickers, so here's my favorite picture of one of my bicycles
A6. Most of the old guard of the state DOT. Some of the younger engineers are finally starting to prioritize safety over "Level of Service". Not enough, but its starting to change.
A5. First thing stopping me was #CarBrain , that I HAD to have a car for *everything*, no matter how close it was to me. Looking back, I can see how ridiculous it was for me to drive five blocks to go to a friend's house
Weather. Because I dealt with rain by using a hat and a trenchant and gloves instead of an umbrella (because we got what I called "sideways" rain)
Bad education of bicycling against traffic instead of as traffic.
A4. Older house it was the laundry room. Currently in the garage. Laundry room was better since it was right by the back door. Garage is separated and a pain to get to when it's raining or really cold (heat doesn't bother me as much).
A3. One place has three female mechanics out of nine (w), the other is just a 3 person shop (wm). Both shops have very diverse clientele.
Very friendly and knowledgeable. The reason I use these 2 shops instead of other ones that are available is they understand that I bicycle just for transportation, no trying to upsell me, or calling me "Fred" underneath their breath behind my back (unaware I was aware of the definition).
Old SO question I know, but still: The question screams "homework", yet seven people answered it and none of them asked if this was for homework. 🤦♂️
