The Palaeolithic ('Old Stone Age') makes up the earliest chunk of the Stone Age – the large swathe of time during which hominins used stone to make tools – and ranges from the first known tool use roughly 2,6 million years ago to the end of the last Ice Age c. https://www.worldhistory.org/Paleolithic/ #History #Denisovan #HomoErectus #HomoFloresiensis

Scientists have created a digital model of the skull of a Homo floresiensis, a human ancestor that lived on the island of Flores in Indonesia. The model reveals new details about the brain and facial features of the species, also known as the hobbit. The model also helps to compare the hobbit with other human relatives, such as Neanderthals and modern humans.

Homo naledi is an extinct species of human discovered in Rising Star Cave in South Africa in 2013 CE in what has become the biggest single-species hominin find in Africa to this day, which is moreover set to cause a bit of an avalanche within the field of palaeoanthropology because the skeletons' strange mix of features and young date of 236,000 and 335,000 years old serve to highlight hominin ...https://www.worldhistory.org/Homo_Naledi/ #Denisovan #HomoErectus #HomoFloresiensis

Time for another entry in "Indecent Descent", and now it's a shortstack spectacular with the diminutive Homo Floresiensis women. And just so you know: no, this is not loli, not even of the 700-year-old-dragon variety. Adult H. Floresiensis never grew much taller than one meter. No wonder they are called the real life Hobbits.
