The full fingers brake lever on my Honda Grom wasn't feeling correct. I was about to order an adjustable 2-finger lever, but first looked into my moto parts drawer. I found an unused 2-finger lever for Suzuki DRZ400. It fit perfectly, same dimensions and is more adjustable \o/ :)

Q. Do all Japanese bikes use the same levers??

First impressions on the Honda CRF300 Rally:

* Suspension is great on the road. Roads that make the Grom chatter like crazy feel like nothing in the CRF. Potholes just feel like a minor bump. Riding up curbs is easy.
* It's top-heavy for 150 kg. Need to be careful moving it around.
* Feels very stable at low speeds, perhaps due to the large tyres and heavier weight.

Overall, very happy so far. Looking forward to doing a small trip soon.

* Sure vibrates a lot more than the Grom. I'll add some Grip Puppies.
* Seat height isn't as much of a challenge as I expected. I wouldn't want to start out on this bike, but it's very approachable after 1 yr of riding experience.
* Power is amazing compared to the Grom. No trouble doing 100 km/hr, even uphill.
* Gets blown around a lot more than the Grom did at 80+ km/hr.

I've had the Honda Grom for 13 months and 6,400 km. It's been a great little bike, but it's time to upgrade. I want to travel and go camping, so I need something that can actually do highway speeds and carry a bit of weight. The Grom just isn't cut out for that.

So I purchased a new bike today!

Fingers crossed, it'll get delivered tomorrow. 🤞🏻 Then I'll reveal what I got. 🏍️

Just got the Honda Grom back from its 6,400 km (4,000 mi) service. Maybe I'm just imagining it, but it feels like new again now.

It'd probably benefit from being serviced more frequently - it's only got 9 HP, so you have to ride it pretty hard to actually get anywhere. I'll try changing the oil at the next 3,200 km instead of waiting another 6,400.

Hard to believe I've had this bike for 13 months now. It's a 10/10 bike, but I'll really need to upgrade soon.

@dHeinemann @SeaFury I ride a Grom and a Triumph Tiger 800xcx. The Tiger is great for touring and light offroading; the Grom is ... an incredibly fun motor skate. One that you can easily carry in the back of your van on a month long trip.

I think the most important metrics for motorbikes are smiles, and smiles/€. The Grom scores high in the first, and top in the second.

New bike to me. A 2020 Honda Grom ABS. Came it with 700 miles, aftermarket exhaust, decent adjustable levers and underglow lights.

So far removed the underglow, did tail tidy, LED signals, functional bar-end mirrors, quick-throttle tube, adjusted throttle play, adjusted clutch friction zone, and setup bar and lever angles for my height.

Super nimble at 220lb and a great urban ride to unwind. Aftermarket project parts support is amazing!!

Tried taking the Honda Grom down some corrugated roads today. The sport tyres weren't a problem, but the suspension *really* doesn't like it. 😂

Took the Honda Grom to the servo to pump up the tires. I think the tire pump must've been broken, because I couldn't get it to work. All I achieved was deflating my front tire to 70%.

I told the clerk, then decided to just ride home since I live nearby. It's amazing how much of a difference an under-inflated tire makes for handling. The Grom is usually as nimble as a bicycle, but it was noticeably a *lot* harder to tip into corners.

Do not recommend.

I installed some cheap mirror extenders on my Honda Grom, and it makes a world of difference. Now I can see behind myself without having to tuck my shoulders in!

Only issue is it seems to make the mirrors vibrate a little more. I don't mind, but I think they're going to need some locktight to keep them from rattling loose.

Feeling really sore after riding 800+ km (500+ mi) on the Honda Grom over two days, but had an absolute blast.

Lessons learned:

* The Grom is even slower than you think. Highway headwinds will knock your top speed down to 80 km/hr real (50 mi), even if you tuck as much as possible.

* Touring with a backpack sucks. Never again!

* A throttle lock makes a huge difference for comfort. So does stopping every hour for a stretch.

* It's really fun!

10/10 would recommend.
