It seems my first thought last week was right, i.e. Nads announced her resignation (with mysterious allusions to reasons to be made clear later) only because she believed her name was on BoJo’s honours list for receipt of a peerage. It turned out that she only found out her name *wasn’t* on the list just half an hour before it was published. She’s as sick as a parrot at having jumped the gun, and is now reneging on her resignation announcement.
