i am constantly floored that in an age of #GenderIdentity consciousness/sensitivity/ realization that #GenderReveal parties are a thing. what's more, they seem to keep escalating in their audacity and ostentation.

is this just straight people culture? or are there non-het folks that're expecting who are also doing the whole gender reveal hooha? i have the suspicion that the folks who do this also equate gender with biological sex.
