You have to buy a #playstationportal and a #ps5 and pricey headphones, to have an ok portable #PlayStation experience.

plus+ most console manufactuers make you pay to play games online that they don't even own. What sense does that make?

While, legal #Streaming is more affordable.

#Hoopla is free to anyone with a library card and there are no ads.

If you are fine with ads there's #plutotv or #tubi

I am replacing Youtube with free, non #ad supported services, #legally

1. I'l use fediverse to get news in short bursts

2. then there's hoopla aka #hoopladigital to view #shows / #movies for free with no ads, legally.
#Hoopla is a free streaming app, but you need a library card, likely is free. Your local library will be paying hoopla monthly generally.

3. Lastly there's #peertube With Sepia search, I can watch a handfull of channels, that are like what may be on #youtube, no #ads legally.

Before this (and #Hoopla in general) I hadn't read Marvel or DC comics regularly since the early 2000's.

I've mostly parted ways with #DCComics (I hated 52 in so many different ways, let me tell you), but the Hickman writing, along with Saladin Ahmed's Miles Morales and Ms Marvel books, have reeled me back in.

The #audiobook for my latest title "Essential Information After High School Graduation" is now available on #hoopla from the #Goleta Valley #library 🥳

I somehow erased the existence of July 31 from my mind: so on the one hand, disappointed to discover on this Monday morning which is not August 1 that I have to wait one more day until I get 6 more borrows from Hoopla, but also, at least that means I have one more day to browse the indie reads in the Smashwords July sale.

@UncannyKyle When my library joined #Hoopla right before the COVID-pocalypse.... I am almost caught up on modern X-Men stuff, found little indy comics I never would have read otherwise, just amazing.
