Yesterday was the first Sunday after going public with my move. You would’ve thought it was my last day. But people need time to process, grieve, and get used to the idea that my time with them now has a definite end date.

Bittersweet but necessary.

A skilled calligrapher asked for my favorite verse so she could work on that and gift it to me. Another asked for my favorite window, but I don’t know why.

Leaving is a jumbled mess.

I just read #Medium changes on payment and #quality content on their platform, and I have to say I'm impressed that Medium finally took its head out of its arse and started working on making the platform worth reading and joining again.

I cancelled my paying #membership mainly because Medium embraced #AI generated content and made it eligible for earning money through the platform. By doing that, in my eyes, it diminished writers who did their best to contibue to the platform with their heart and mind.

As a member since 2020 I can say that for me the quality of content went down drastically because it became all about earning money - quantity above quality.

Now, Medium put out new guidelines for earning money and I think they are on the right track because finally quality is coming first as well as the contribution to the Medium community in general.

Although, I know there are people who use IA generated replies as part of being "active" on Medium because interaction is everything, no matter how shallow it is.

It will be interesting to see how this will change #writing on Medium.

Should I be #hopeful for this change to really take root in the world where #money has the leading word?

Is Medium as a #platform #strong enough to be the #leader in providing #quality content for its readers and support honest and heartful writers?

On a positive note, today my new Hosa DB25 cable snakes arrived. Connected them to inputs & outputs 25 to 32 on the Quantum and they’re all working! Yay! So I now have a functioning 32 channel recording studio. Will try to get to Long & McQuade tomorrow and order the Apogee Symphony. And buy the Fender Stratocaster.

I just finished a #free #solarpunk game on #Steam called New Roots. It's a 2D #adventure game with a lot of #hopeful message and atmosphere. It's very short, a little under an hour or so long. I recommend it.
