The Esoterium is a significant organization, constituted of smaller, loosely connected clandestine entities. These diverse occult groups elected to unite to curb the influence and devastation wrought by the various Walks of Darkness and their affiliated malevolent organizations. However, the distinct cabals that form the Esoterium, while sharing common objectives, are predominantly autonomous. Each is governed by its own Esotarch (the head of a given esotary) and harbors its own secretive agendas. Consequently, the Esoterium might appeaudioar as a stable consolidation of like-minded factions, but in actuality, these alliances are frequently fragile, with each cabal pursuing their individual objectives. Despite this, the Esoterium has proven efficient in halting the spread of dark forces influencing the world. Some of the groups in the Esoterium include 9th House, the Consortium of Doors, the Keepers of a Thousand Secrets, the Sinastradi, and many others.

The frayed line of a life buoy, holding my whole flotsam raft together, finally snapped, plunging me into the warm welcoming water of the Pacific. How easy it would be to remain. Soaked, massaged by the gentle current, holding onto the the remains of a broken hull, like a swim-up bar. If only I could order a drink.

Then I felt the whip at my leg. The approach and quick snatch away of rows of serrations. #Hunted day and night by fins. I climbed out, and prayed.

Rustling from a nearby bush stopped his folly. And he stopped to admire the darling bird making the noise. A claw emerged. Then a leg. Then the face. Feathers were all over it, and it trilled darkly. It looks at it's strange prey. Birds were much larger back then.

Mitch had tracked the killer down for a week. Like the killer, he was an expert survivalist, trained in the corp, then spec ops. He knew how to vanish, but Mitch knew better. He scoped the #trail, saw the faint mark of a standard issue boot. Just like his. You couldn't break habit. A broken twig, a folded blade of grass. He rounded the bend, and saw a familiar campsite. His own, from a week ago. This couldn't be. He felt the barrel of a gun to his head.

They neither knew, nor cared why the building had been sealed.

Breaking in wasn't easy.

The dust sparkling in the Sun's rays inhaled without notice, until the spores lodged in the lungs, hatched and became a psychotropic #fungus that nullified their critical censor.

That was when they came to understand why the building had been sealed with all residents still inside.
