I was so into #Horror all my life, pretty much up until my reversion to #Islam. So much of Western life is so lacking in spirit and I think it's the root cause of the appeal. If you have no God, believing in or being intrigued by the darker realm is better than a void, I guess.

Ash of the #HorrorVanguard podcast once said that we in the postmodern West want to be haunted. Of the many great things he's said over the years, that might have been the one I really needed to hear.

These days I steer entirely clear of the genre. I've had encounters with the #Unseen in that realm before and after my reversion and I don't care to invite the experience.

As a subscriber to the #HorrorVanguard podcast, I was psyched to see this new pod from #TheLever. It’s called #Movies vs. Capitalism. The premiere episode analyzed Ghostbusters. As someone who grew up in the 80s and saw this movie at least a dozen times, I still learned quite a bit. New episodes drop each Tuesday.
