I have a collection of short stories, on Smashwords: [100 words](https://www.smashwords.com/books/view/1058931). This is a collection of 100 word stories.

I like writing shorts because I can fit them in. I’ve expanded to a 200 word limit these days, and at some point in the next couple of years, I will probably release a sequel. It will be called 200 words, naturally.

I love the horror writer's technique of allowing the reader to be in on what's going down in a story before the point of view character figures it out. I'm reading Anne Rice's The Witching Hour and I am marveling at such techniques as well as others she uses to create various reactions in the reader. There’s a town in Kentucky that shouldn’t exist. It doesn’t show up on any maps. Nobody was born there. There are no records of the town being built.
You don’t find the town. Nobody goes looking for the town. You go for a hike and stumble upon the town in a clearing you don’t remember being there.
The first thing you see is a steeple. There’s no church, just a few rotted pews and a steeple sticking up from the ground.

@Melbin_Mike I've written fiction re: mental illness from both a first-person singular point of view and a first-person plural point of view. If one is portraying a mentally ill person/people via 1st person, there is an opportunity to demonstrate what you are describing by how the narrative is told. For example, does the narrator illustrate this both/and capability? However, sts lit magazines may shy away from publishing this.
