My first attempt using horsehair as a medium: 1.) you need a LOT of it. 2.) A uniform length helps prevent “whiskers”—harvest from a cutting not from a brush. 3.) white hair is translucent and will appear dull if placed on dark colored cloth. I tacked down the messier sections with thread. Ok, here goes nuthin- attempting to embroider with horsehair. That’s hair from the Gypsy Vanner that I’ve kept in a jar for years (left over from making horsehair jewelry.)
