"Horse in a Landscape," Franz Marc, 1910.

I first saw a reproduction of this hanging in a restaurant in Louisville, KY, and was struck by it...and then found it again through my usual source. I had no idea it was a German work. The artist specialized in equestrian paintings, but in an Expressionist, rather than academic, style.
