For Xmas afternoon I went with some others in Kampala to Dr Anne Merriman’s place. 87-year-old Uk-born, Irish-trained former nun, global palliative care pioneer, who set up Hospice Africa Uganda, now working in 37 countries, and former Nobel nominee. The story I wrote a few weeks ago:

At Hospice Africa Uganda in Kampala for a story that I’m writing about Dr Anne Merriman, a British doctor, former Medical Missionaries nun, & former Nobel nominee for her pioneering work on palliative care. Dr Anne, now 87, has worked in this field all around the world, to make affordable oral morphine widely available.
