I also found an unfortunate example of under a bridge. Seeing this makes me wonder where our priorates should really be.

1) A graduate student has been collecting info on unusual bird nests, including ones that incorporate plastic trash and anti-bird spikes

These magpies build nests from the anti-bird devices, resulting in a “brutalist sea urchin” of metal needles sprouting from plastic strips

@gemelliz or places for people to actually sit without having hostile architecture forcing them to suffer.

The stations in have which hurts or people who just want to sit while waiting for the train.

I can't stand for long periods and just having space to sit and exist is essential for my well being.

I really hate hostile architecture. It's inhumane.

Everyday that I exit the AT , I get so mad when I see that the western is closed. It's been closed for the entire decade I've lived here. Why? Nothing seems structurally wrong, just trying to enforce a police cordon that never went away. It's just .

The first City of Sydney, Alexander Tzannes designed bench I’ve spotted with metal dividers - in the new Central concourse.

SMH reported in 2015 that the original design is decently comfortable to sleep on - perhaps it was too anti-hostile!

> Self-described "survival artist" Ronny Ng is Sydney's pre-eminent expert on the city's best public seats and benches. After sleeping rough on Sydney's streets for 17 years, he rates the city's new modern furniture as close to perfect.

Seen on the same block: a weedy unmaintained planter designed to block homeless people; and an empty tree box, also weedy and unmaintained.

This isn’t “gardening,” it’s barricading and does nothing to solve homelessness.
