Recently I revisited the giant #exoplanet Qatar-1 b and recorded its transit with my #eVscope. It's not much larger than Jupiter and has 1.294 Jovian masses, but #Qatar1b orbits in just 1.4 days around its K-type host star and thus is a #HotJupiter planet.

#astronomy #exoplanets #HotJupiter An article to be published in "Astrophysical Journal Letters" offers a solution to the mystery of the formation of the exoplanet CI Tauri b, a very young hot Jupiter that contradicts the models that predict that a gas giant is supposed to take at least 10 million years to form. https://english.tachyonbeam.com/2019/06/14/a-solution-to-the-mystery-of-the-formation-of-the-exoplanet-ci-tauri-b
