Here's the latest on my #housebus - picked up another piece of free furniture for it today!

Which is to say that now I'm just kind of anxiously waiting until I can get up tomorrow with hopefully several hours of daylight left to work on my #housebus.
And because I'm me, that also means not really being able to be productive about anything else until then.
Dang it, my neighbors are complaining about my #housebus being parked on the street near their house. Seems the only issue they have which I can't address is that the bus 'encourages crime' in the neighborhood, which just smacks of pearl-clutching NIMBYism to me.
Huge Success!
All of the unnecessary wires are now officially stripped from my #skoolie. The only things still connected at the panel are the tail-lights, driver fan, and main door. My #housebus now has literally NONE of the comforts of home.
Oh! And the bus started right up with no major issues! As I suspected, I cut off the ground wire daisy-chain and disabled my left tail-lights, but I was able to chain that back into the ground on the right tail-lights and everything works great now!
Made more progress on the wires today, managed to pull I think 85-90% of the ones I won't need.
Hopefully I pulled no more than 3-5% of the wires I WILL need.
And more hopefully, I'll be able to figure out which ones those areβ¦
And now that I've finally started doing this, it's like all I want to do right now, but it's too dark out there. I really should bring out some work lights or something, some kind of desk lap or christmas lights or something so I can work out there in the dark... #skoolie #housebus #DIY
Spent a good few hours today out in my #housebus - hopefully sealing a few leaky windows up for good, and made some serious headway on the wiring bird's-nest.
Basically just labeling and bundling a bunch of wires so I know what's what, and can later decide what to pull out permanently or leave hanging around for later.
This was my second full day working on the wiring, the first was a few months back. I was discouraged after spending so long on it & it still being such a mess. Feel better now!
Today I installed a trailer hitch receiver on the back of my #skoolie #housebus: https://www.indigo-k.com/housebus-installing-the-hitch-receiver/
This'll be necessary to tow my beetle around with me and make it easier to run errands.
theoretically, i could still get out and work on my #housebus this evening. Like, it's not totally dark out yet, and I'm already dressed and all.
Knowing this hasn't brought me any closer to actually doing it though.
Mostly-successful trip to the hardware store to get some materials for the ol' #housebus. Today was some screws, some silicone caulking, and some painting supplies.
Next I get to go out and glue a whole bunch of pennies to the floor.
