I've been absorbed in #crowscommoms my project with @Brynn to transition 12 acres of private land into #commonland .

The spaces that we aim to build will be #collectivelyowned and center #care and #disability

The #commoning house will include art studios, a #communitykitchen , an accessible bathroom, and dining. Connected to a network of "sleeping houses" which are spacious wood stove heated "cottages" with a bed + bath.

Some examples that I've seen or been a part of: Bike co-op (fixing donated bikes, teaching repair skills to kids, #recycling, transport), #Housingcoop (shared housing fostering community, shared resources, #mutualaid, economical), community gardens (learning how to grow food, mutual aid, time spent together, food production), #community tool library (sharing resources), community free schools/libraries. Almost any local business can be built as a co-op. #communitybuilding via potluck meals

@LeoSammallahti In my town, our limited equity #housingcoops sit on land owned by a community #LandTrust, so that seems to be a moot point. I'd be quite curious to learn more about how they work on market-rate land... #housingcoop

I know a very innovative housing co-op who are expecting a swell of membership over the coming year, and are assessing their future governance structure. I've already got some info for them, but curious if there's some special cases I have missed.
