Speaking of demonyms -- if you just moved to #Houston, you are now a #Houstonian, and not a #Houstonite. There was a controversy over the matter a couple of years ago, which I assume was again settled (in favor of #Houstonian).

I assume it's even older, but I remember people discussing #Houstonian in the go-go years of the 1960s.

I like the slightly overdone, grandiferous quality of it. It really works for me.
