I never had a Jornada 720 but I have an #HP200LX I bought new and a #Jornada820e I bought used. I prefer the HP200LX. It was great with #NetTamer on it.

@kelbot In the pre-COVID times, my daily carry included a #hp200lx. Weeks of battery life, a very nice suite of productivity apps, plus DOS 5.0 in ROM. It also was great for work meeting notes, because (by dint of having only RAM and ROM) it was very easy to securely wipe after I'd transfered the notes to my main PC.

The downside is that it isn't pocketable, or really optimized for thumb typing -- I had a padded carrying case slung on my hip, and the device only came out when I was sitting down for more than a few minutes.

Nowadays a fxTec pro1 smartphone has replaced it in my daily carry, because the pro1's physical keyboard is much better for thumb typing, and having 4g connectivity everywhere is just so handy. But I often miss the elemental simplicity of the 200LX.

I have a PocketChip too but I don't put it in the same category. The form factor is way too uncomfortable for prolonged typing, at least for me.
