Yesterday HRB notification-automation confirmed an appointment today; but the latest HRB agent failed to show.
On FB.hrb(lock), I tried to comment about my frustration and mistrust. However the FB-comment-editor declined my comment!

They escalated my case to software support. The support person I talked to has confirmed that this is happening to others.

40 followers · 2338 posts · Server octodon.socialFor some reason we have to file taxes in the US. The government has the info to pull the right amount of our paychecks as we go but Intuit, #HRBlock, etc. have expensive lobbyists and a total lack of shame.
And then they make it high stress, complicated, and high stakes. The "instructions" actually make things worse (don't get me started on 1040EZ which definitely isn't EZ).
Then I go to do mine early (for me anyway) ... and HRBlock is down with no ETA.
