The current discourse by particular states seeking the removal of the term “gender” from the language of multiple resolutions from the final text represents a setback and is part of a concerning trend where “gender” language is being systematically attacked and undermined. #hrc52

At this session, we followed discussions, debates and resolutions on economic, social and cultural rights, the right to development, care and health systems, and racial discrimination.

There is also a need to consider, in consultation with CSO partners and young people, the digitization of #CSE in some settings to meet the needs of older and out of school adolescents. This would accelerate positive SRH outcomes amongst these demographics.

We welcome the #Netherlands’ support of the recommendation on comprehensive sexuality education and we therefore expect the Netherlands to expand #CSE in the core objectives for school curricula (kerndoelen).

The current provision of services and information for adolescents is inadequate to meet their #SRH needs. Barriers to accessing services include: restrictive social norms towards adolescent sexuality, HIV-related discrimination, and more. #HRC52 #UPR

Adolescents and young people, particularly in the eastern part of Indonesia, still lack the information they need to help them to exercise their agency, and to make more informed decisions for their bodies and lives. #CSE #SRHR #HRC52

The government must revoke the order that is blocking the Bill passed in #Scotland from becoming law, and they should introduce legislation that would also allow trans people in England & Wales to obtain legal gender recognition by the same process.
