Der Urlaub steht vor der Tür: Die Rucksäcke sind schon mal gepackt für unsere #Wanderung in den #Pyrenäen auf einem Teilabschnitt (Lescun —> Salardu) der Haute Randonnée Pyrénéenne. Seit fünf Jahren ist es endlich mal wieder eine Weitwanderung. 😃

When you visit the area around Pic Carlit & Lac du Bouilloses you need to take someone with you - there is too much beauty there for one person alone to absorb.

A multitude of mountain lakes (16+), spread over over a large area, with the ability to camp nearly anywhere between 7pm - 9am. Swimming in the lakes are prohibited though.

Summiting Pic Carlit (2921m) is also a popular destination.

The #HRP and #GR10 also pass through this area.

Refugi/Cabana de Siscaro. This unmanned structure in the Pyrenees is where hikers on Andorran section of the HRP passes by. I think it can sleep about 14 people.

It has an interesting placement next to a wetland, it is best approached from the signpost on the approach from Valls de Incles (west-to-east direction on the HRP). If approached from the other direction it can be tempting to cross the wetland, but unless you know where you are going, you might be forced to turn back.

I would like to hike in August through the Pyrenees and specifically a section of the haute randonnée pyrénéenne (pyrenean haute route): from Lescun (France) to Salardú (Spain). Both arrival and departure I arrange by public transport, mainly by train. However, my current problem is that I can hardly find anything on how to get from Salardú to Toulouse. Does anyone perhaps have knowledge/experience on this?

The long weekend presented itself from its best side today. And I took the chance to do another training hike vor the #HRP. I almost doubled my last distance to 18 km and also did a little bit in elevation. It was a great hike, but tomorrow I know I'll be sore.

I'm actually a little bit sore after my first training for the #hrp, yesterday. Therefore just some light stretching today, to counter the stiffness that has been building up the last half year.

First day of training for the #hrp. I've got three months for preparation. Today I started with a 10k walk. Next weekend I plan to go actually #hiking on a moderate trail.
