@peterbutler Thanks Peter, I gave Notepad++ a run for a few hours, it's definitely still a programmer's editor. You can though view a temp copy of the document being edited in a browser but it's not really WYSIWYG. The addition of HTML Plug-in gives it a more efficient way of putting markup in the document.

He's a writer rather than a programmer and I was hoping to find something more like Word. I need to go try some of the OpenOffice type editors. Thanks for the suggestion.

I've been on WordPress forever, almost since abandoning NetObjects Fusion...

A friend has an actual web site that he maintained since 2009 with actual fairly simple HTML pages.

Is there a simple HTML editor that does WYSIWYG and doesn't dump tons of unnecessary html/css into the pages ala Word.

Any recommendations?
