Just enabled #zswap on banshee (@ndlug's VPS)... we'll see if helps with memory contention/pressure on our server.

Oh, that's neat. The current version of #htop also can show I/O stats! There's a tab for it!

Alright, here is what my #Linux noob butt got accomplished on my lil #MangoPi MQ-Pro so far:
- #UbuntuServer up and running
-Wifi configured and working
- #Htop installed
- #Terminews installed
-Added some RSS feeds

To do:
-Add more #RSS feeds
-Install #Tmux if available for #riscv

In olden days i used #Screenfetch, then sometime after i belatedly heard of #Neofetch i changed to it [& tweaked its config file, coz... of course! 😉]. Now you tell me there's #PFetch? Sheesh, what's a gal gotta do just to get some peace & quiet around here, without all these damn fabbo new pkgs to explore & play with? 😜

Madame denkt ja manchmal das ich im #HomeOffice nix mache. Um das zu beweisen versucht sie dann auf den Monitor zu schauen. Ich lasse dann mit #F12 schnell #iTerm2 reinfahren und dann sieht sie ein #Terminal mit #tmux und darin #htop ein #tail auf eine #logdatei ein #watch auf das #dateisystem und paar Ausgaben von #ansible … Das ist sehr überzeugend das ich schwer beschäftigt bin.

I finally found the reason why #htop starting from #Debian 10 did not show all processes but top does. Looks like there have been incompatible changes in ~/.config/htop. Removing this file makes #htop work as expected again.

@rml I found #bashtop utterly impressive, maybe even a bit overwhelming. At some point, I just went back to #htop.

Ушёл с htop на btop, поскольку последний жрёт на порядок меньше cpu (батарейки) при том же refresh rate.

Funny thing...

For many weeks I couldn't power off my work laptop. For some reasons system (it's Ubuntu there) didn't shut down and I always had to use power button. I blamed snap nonsense (which frequently generates other problems) or keeping Yubikeys inserted too much time.

Today I tried to check memory usage and ran #htop. I was surprised when I found many background processes from services I tested long time ago, mostly related to #Logstash. It reminded me I experimented with data transfer between remote systems and set my computer to send data to development server. Later I disabled services on that server and forgot about these tests. And my computer tried to send data for more than 3 months and didn't let turn system off unless it will be successfully sent :blobcatjoy:​
Of course I disabled all remained services.

Today I could turn off my laptop without using power button first time since December :blobcatjoy:​

Confused why #htop and "free" commands show different used memory on #OpenSuse 🤷

Today, I noticed that recent versions of #htop have tabs and there is an 'I/O' tab showing various I/O data, in addition to the 'Main' tab

Utterly weird! 😮

Needed to briefly depart from #ArchLinux tower, to #Fedora #KDEPlasma lappy in another room. There, was using #Firefox & #Konsole, when suddenly realised the fan was roaring away. Glanced at my Conky, which showed culprit was `anydesk`, at ~27%+ cpu. Huh, i'm not using AD atm, nor did i launch it, so wtf?

Launched #systemmonitor to find & kill AD... but not visible there. 😮 Ran #htop in Konsole, saw several AD threads; all ignored my kills. 😮

Rebooted, ok now, but wtf? 🤷‍♀️
