I've managed to fix the SSL issue with HubCat, but federation is still not happening.

Probably time to try upgrading again. If that doesn't work, maybe I'll do a fresh install. (This, however, will have to wait until later today at the earliest.)

So, I'm trying to fix #HubCat, finally...

...and the problem I run into is that CertBot seems to want me to create a DNS TXT record for the domain "_acme-challenge.hub.toot.cat" -- but DigOc won't let me create a TXT record where the subdomain starts with an underscore (see screenshot).

Any ideas on how to resolve this?

Today's tech-problem-solving stack:

• fix SSL cert on #hubcat
• ✅ determine whether virtual domain is properly configured (iti is: confirmed by test script, did that yesterday)
• ➡️ figure out how to run certbot manually
• ➡️➡️ translate certbot's manpage into something usable
• ➡️➡️➡️ figure out how to dump manpages as HTML (I did this once before, but it broke) ⬅️ YOU I ARE HERE

Okay, looks like Ima have to do my own certbot docs if Ima figure out how to make it work on #hubcat .

Manpages are just, like, really difficult to use in certain ways.

I took a break from coding today, and instead did some coding.

(The latter coding was for the purpose of adding some additional tests and diagnostics to my vhost-testing utility.)

Result: #HubCat (https://hub.toot.cat) is back online and upgraded, though it still has issues. I don't know when I'll have time to really dig into those and figure out what's going on. :-/

Also, I'm working out how to properly* back up #TootCat for the first time ever so I can (cough) try to upgrade GlitchSoc finally without being in total terror of something going Tragically Wrong.

(*I run nightly file-backups, but that's not super-reliable at capturing database stuff. I also need to know how to snag all the media files, which are currently hosted on Jortage, but that can probably wait. I have also taken snapshots, but those are similarly unreliable unless the server is shut down.)
