@inktvis75 Hoe bevalt #Hubitat in vergelijking tot #HomeAssistant?
Volgens mij ben je nu een paar maandjes verder.

I am procrastinating switching our Hive boiler controller and thermostat over to the driver I wrote for Hubitat.
I shouldn’t. Other people are using the beta version just fine. My drivers run virtually every other Zigbee device in the house. The test box has worked flawlessly for months.
Weird.

Got my #Hubitat Elevation C-8 home automation hub last week. Spent a frustrating evening moving them over from my dead Wink home automation hub.
Apparently you can force a Z-wave device to reset itself by doing an Exclude action, and tapping on the device's button/switch/etc.
Ultimately got all but two devices moved over. Now rebuilding the automation on top (dashboards, connecting to Alexa, etc).
My #Hubitat #HomeAutomation hub recently received a #FirmwareUpdate that enabled a super cool new feature: An interactive #GraphNetwork visualization of the relationships between my #ZWave and #Zigbee devices. My inner #DataViz geek is jumping for joy right now.

The more I write automations in #webCoRE the more I like it. I wrote two pistons tonight.
The first one sends me an sms text via IFTTT when I leave home if I didn’t tell Alexa I remembered my son’s bottles for daycare (and it’s a weekday between 7am and 9:15am and it’s not a US holiday).
The second one tells Roborock to vacuum and mop the house if both me and my wife aren’t home and it hasn’t already vacuumed the house that day. If anyone returns home it docks.

I'm no security researcher, but my intuition has always told me that #SmartHome devices shouldn't have direct access to the network. Therefore, I've gone out of my way to avoid #WiFi based devices in favor of #ZWave or #Zigbee whenever possible, working under the assumption that an attacker would first need to #pwn my #Hubitat before they could access any of my actual #HomeAutomation devices. In your expert opinion, is my intuition on this subject more or less accurate?

@isturiz The rule engine is much more intuitive to me in #Hubitat. #HomeAssistant almost always turned into a hunt to find the answer on how to do something. While I could always figure it out, Hubitat is just much easier imo. I use #HomeKit as my front end in both cases, so no change there.

@jglemza Do mind me asking what made migrate to #HomeAssistant and why you went back to #Hubitat ?
I finally finished migrating everything off of #HomeAssistant and back on to #Hubitat.
Well now. #hubitat turned out to be a wash. A powerful platform, but it doesn't give me anything more than I already have.
Ah well, onwards and upwards.
Only had lunchtime to have a play with the new #hubitat box. So far, it's hit and miss. Only one of the five #Zigbee switches and none of the PIRs I've got are recognised. On the other hand, #Hue #tasmota #Glow and #Shelly integration seem to work. The basic rules engine is very limited and the standard dashboard is pretty much next to useless. I knew there were always going to be a lot of manual tweaks, but I was hoping the out of the box experience would have been a bit better. Ho hum.

For those using #Hubitat, DON'T use an aliased email address (an address with a + modifier near the end to make it LOOK different while still coming to your same inbox). Hubitat's Remote Admin feature seems to hate that character. Not sure which services allow it outside of Proton Mail and GMail. But for now, just use a regular version of your email address with Hubitat!
In ongoing #homeautomation drama it seems like the #hubitat doesn't handle daylight savings like it is from the past or something.
